Future Fossils Chapter 8 – The Pin.

I really appreciate the comments that people have sent me – largely privately – about this project. I think that the way we dispose of things we no longer have need of is a huge topic and one which needs to be addressed. By re-imagining our waste through the eyes of the archaeologists of the future, I hope that I have just made people stop and think.

Here is the link to the final chapter – but this is not the end. Keep watching for updates on a very exciting development later in the year!

What is this piece of metal? Why was it lying on a beach?

Future Fossils, Chapter 7 – The Barrow.

Well, last week’s post caused a bit of a stir! There has been a conversation going on, mostly on my Instagram account, about whether it is responsible to post an image of a swastika. I am delighted with this controversy – it is exactly my point. We make up stories about things, we think we have all the answers, but out knowledge is of a fleeting moment. The connection between this symbol and Nazi atrocities is very short lived in the history of the human race and yet it colours our judgement entirely. So should I have posted it or not? Did I need to put a health warning on it? I would be interested in your opinions.

In the meantime, here is chapter 7.
