It’s Good to be Back

Surface Tension, the exhibition which forms the major part of the final mark for my Masters in Fine Art opened at One Paved Court in Richmond last Wednesday. I cannot begin to describe how pleased I am with the exhibition. I really wanted it to sit in the gallery as if it belonged and I really think I have achieved that.

I have had some great comments about how the work looks fresh and unusual but perhaps the best of all was the lady who came in on the second day and told me that the work reminded her of the exhibition of sculptures by Maria Bartoszova at Tate Modern. Given that this was the jumping off point for the new body of work I could not be more delighted!

The exhibition is closed for two days now and reopens at 12pm on Wednesday 5th July. I would love it if people came in and offered me their opinions.

Surface Tension is now open

What an incredible 24 hours! I simply would not be here without the help and understanding of my amazing man. He has carried, hung, and helped move ceramics and supporting paraphernalia around Richmond in order to get this exhibition up on time. He has shown immense patience and understood that my stress levels required careful management and gentle treatment. He deserves a medal! The owners of the gallery have also been hugely helpful and given advice and cups of tea willingly.

The exhibition is now open from 12pm – 5pm Wednesday – Sunday for the next three weeks and I would love it if a steady stream of visitors decided to come and call.

Below is a little taster of what is in the gallery.
